You are also responsible for your own, your family’s or your guests’ negligence or misconduct that results in damage to any other property in the vicinity of your room or apartment.

When regulatory officials or investigators arrive at your door, politely request that they wait in a break room or waiting area while you contact the proper university department. It is the university’s policy to ensure that all inspections and reviews are lawful and that agency representatives are accompanied by appropriate School and University representatives. Oftentimes, you will be asked to accompany the investigators and provide them with an inventory of items that are reviewed or searched. This will help protect your privacy and prevent you from being falsely accused of a crime. It will also protect you from having to pay for damages and cleaning expenses that are not incurred as a result of ordinary wear and tear.
